RCMP Graves: In Isolated Canadian and Worldwide Places
By far, a vast number of RCMP graves are found in cemeteries located in large cities and in small towns all across Canada. A large percentage of members also opted to be buried in well known and historic RCMP cemeteries such as; the Dawson Police Cemetery, Fort Saskatchewan, Fort MacLeod, 'Depot' Cemetery in Regina, SK., or the RCMP National Memorial Cemetery in Ottawa, ON.
Yet, our attention is also drawn to a few RCMP graves which are found in very isolated places across Canada. Some RCMP graves date back to the earliest days of the North West Mounted Police when cemeteries had no specific plan or geographical boundaries. Others are found in Canada's far north. Still other members were buried in places which today is private property.
From year to year, these lonely graves receive far fewer visitors, but the lives and the RCMP careers of the deceased members are not forgotten. Graves which are found in the most isolated places of Canada continue to be cared for by RCMP members and RCMP Vets.
In this section, some of the more isolated RCMP graves across Canada and around the world will be shown.
