Constable Tom Wilson Monument

Reg.#506, Constable Tom Wilson was born in 1892. He joined the North West Mounted Police (NWMP) in 1880 and he served at Fort Walsh, SK until mid 1881 at which time he received a Medical Discharge.
After his short stint with the NWMP, he was hired as a Surveyor throughout Western Canada with the Canadian Pacific Railway. Later, he operated a a guide business.
Tom Wilson is credited as the first caucasian person to see Lake Louise in Alberta.
Tom died in 1933 and he was buried in Banff, AB.
Tom Wilson was also included in the famous "Driving of the Last Spike" photograph at Craigellachie in November of 1885.
