True and Fascinating Canadian History
Sir Sam Steele Memorial
Edmonton, Alberta
The artist's carving of Sir Sam Steele was erected on Broadmoor Boulevard in Sherwood Park, Alberta. It was dedicated in September, 2013 by the Lord Strathcona Horse Regiment. RCMP members and local dignitaries were in attendance.
I wish to thank Edmonton, AB RCMP Vet AJH 'Joe' Collinson for the photos [above] which are included in this Memorial to Sir Sam Steele.
Sir Sam Steele was buried in St. John's Cemetery, Winnipeg, MB. St. John's is the oldest Anglican Parish west of the Great Lakes. The Cemetery predates the Parish -- and was established by Selkirk settlers in 1812.
