"J27160 Flying Officer (No. 49 Squadron RAF bomb aimer) Raymond Franklin Thompson (b.1914) of Regina was KIA 19450315 and is buried at Berlin 1939-45 war cemetery, Charlottenburg, Germany. Thompson's Lancaster went missing during a night raid on Lutzkendorf.

He was the son of William and Grace (Smith) Thompson of Belleville, Hastings Co., Ontario, and left a wife Aurora Henrietta Harriet (Becker) and son Tyrone Trenton at Regina.

Raymond was born and educated at Belleville and enlisted in the RCMP in 1937. He married without the permission of the commissioner and quickly found himself as a member of the Army Medical Corps, transferring to the RCAF a month later in late 1940."
