Beverly Ann Busson was among the first women to join the Force in 1974. After Basic Training at 'Depot', Beverly Ann was transferred to British Comumbia ('E' Division) where she engaged in police duties for several years.

She received her Commissioner to the rank of Inspector in 1992 and later she was appointed Commanding Officer of Saskatchewan ('F' Division).In 2000, she was appointed Commanding Officer of British Columbia ('E' Division).

In 2004, Beverly Ann Busson was made a Commander of the Order of Merit of the Police Forces and in 2006, she was awarded the Order of British Columbia.

In 2006, Beverly Ann was appointed Commissioner upon the resignation of Commissioner G. Zaccardelli.

She retired from the Force in 2007.

Once again, I extend my Congratulations to Beverly Ann Busson on her appointment as the first woman Commissioner of the RCMP.
