Sylvia Ann MacPherson was born in 1953 and after pursuing post secondary education she joined the RCMP in Ottawa, Ontario in 1977.

Her education and previous experience having worked with the Ottawa Police Service made her an ideal candidate to join the Operations side of the Canadian Police Information Center (CPIC) in its infancy.

Sylvia Ann could very well be called one of CPIC's Founding Members.

Sylvia Ann found her 'home away from home' in the Canadian Police Information Center and her dedication and work on major projects contrituted hughly to CPIC's reputation as a world class repository of information and operational intelligence which is available to serving police officers.

Sylvia Ann was very proud to be a member of the RCMP and most especially proud of her twenty years in CPIC and having been employed as its first woman.

In 1992, Sylvia Ann was the recipient of a unique Canada 125 Celebration Plaque from the RCMP.

The following note of gratitude was received from Sylvia Ann MacPherson's son...

Good Afternoon Joe,

My name is Scott MacPherson, my mom, Sylvia is on your site and frankly, I love it.

I've been surrounded with negative thoughts for 18 years about her death. I was 8.

Thanks for your time with this site.

I have a friends whose father is on your site also; when his days are horrible, he rereads the synopsis just like me.

Thanks,
Scott Kyle MacPherson
